I opened an account online and have now decided to transfer money from my soon to be ex-bank. Can I do that or will I have to go into the bank?

Thanks for opening an account with us, Valencia! We'd be happy to help.
You may certainly make your initial deposit via ACH transfer from another banking institution. To do so, please be sure to include your new TD Account number, routing number, and your name as it is shown on your TD Account and also the type of account you have.
Routing numbers are based upon the TD location where you originally opened your account. For a list of our current routing numbers please check out: http://bit.ly/1cmRPoF. You may also view your routing on the bottom of your personal checks. The Routing number is the first set of numbers. You can also view your Account number; it will be the second set of numbers. Take a look here for an example: http://bit.ly/1qH2i2K. If you do not have any checks and are unsure of your routing number, you can contact us at 1-888-751-9000 to speak with a Banking Specialist, available 24/7, and our Specialists would be happy to confirm this information with you.
Your Checking account number can also be found on the paper statements which is located at the right top corner of the page. If you need assistance locating your account number, please visit us at any TD Store during lobby hours. For a list of Store locations and hours in New York, check out: http://bit.ly/TDStores.
Did you know that there are also other ways available for you to make an initial deposit into your new account? You may make your first deposit by one of the following:
· Bringing cash or a check into any TD Bank Store.
· Making a cash or check deposit at a TD Bank ATM with your VISA debit card.
· Mailing in a check via our Bank-by-Mail option.
If you chose to mail in your first deposit, please send your check to the following address:
TD Bank, N.A., ME2-001-033
P.O. Box Number 1190
Lewiston, ME 04243.
Please be sure to endorse your check and clearly write your account number and the words “For Deposit Only” on the back. Also, just remember to make sure that the Payee of the check and the name on the depositing account are the same. We review our P.O. Box daily and transactions will be posted within 24-48 hours of when they are received. Please note however that TD Bank is not responsible for items lost in the mail.
You may also want to review our Personal Deposit Account Agreement here http://bit.ly/1kb17UQ to review our funds availability policies for new accounts. Pages 38-41 discuss the availability of different types of deposits. Direct deposits should be available to you the day they are processed and posted to your account.
We hope this helps Valencia! Please do not hesitate to let us know should you have any other questions.
