Thanks for visiting us here on TD Helps, Sheila. We're happy you're considering opening an account with us and it'll be our pleasure to provide you with all of the details.
Here at TD Bank, we offer a variety of accounts, so our Customers can choose what works best for them.
For more information on the different types of Checking accounts that we offer take a look here: http://bit.ly/Wczmq0. We also suggest looking at our Checking selector tool here: http://bit.ly/1vW1xnU, It will provide you with a personalized Checking account recommendation. If you're looking to open a Savings account, you should also take a look at http://bit.ly/1hzzhPT for more detailed information on our Savings Account available. You may find it helpful to check out our customized Savings Selector tool, found here: http://bit.ly/1vW1DvM.
We currently offer many ways in which you can open an account with TD Bank. When you're able to call, you can reach us 24/7 at 888-751-9000, you may also visit our website at http://bit.ly/1g5vhXQ or stop by at any local TD Bank Store. To find the nearest TD Bank Store please visit http://bit.ly/TDStores. Keep in mind that to open the accounts you will need to supply a valid Identification (State License, State ID or Passport) and your Social Security number.
You mentioned that once your TD account is opened, you'd like to be able to transfer funds to Canada. If you're looking to transfer to your TD Canada Trust account, we offer convenient ways to do so with our Cross Border Banking Services. If you are listed on an account at both TD Bank and TD Canada Trust, you'll be able to send funds using this service without any wire transfer fees! Please note that the current exchange rate would still apply. We invite you to view here: http://bit.ly/1ienPN4 for more information, or give us a call at 877-700-2913, 24/7 and we'll be happy to review all of the options with you.
If you're looking to transfer funds to an account in Canada that you're either not a signer on at TD Canada Trust or at a different Financial Institution, you would need to send an international wire. To do so, you will need the full name, full address including City, State/Province, Country and account number of the person or business you are sending money to. Please also provide the full name and address, including City, State/Province and Country of the financial institution receiving the funds, and the amount and currency type of the transfer.
For more details on sending international wires please visit http://bit.ly/1oowsYN. Please also keep in mind that wire transfer fees may apply. For our fee schedule, please follow this link: http://bit.ly/1cTejgt.
We would recommend checking with the other financial institution to ensure no other additional information is required, as well as to obtain information regarding any additional fees for their services. Also, please note that we do not process or disburse funds from wire transfers received designated Pay Upon Proper Identification (PUPID) and return them to the sender.
We hope this answers your questions! Thanks again for your interest in TD Bank and please stop back if there's anything else we can help with. Have a fantastic weekend!
