Thank you for stopping by TD Helps, Jake. We are more than happy to guide you in the right direction.
Although we are unable to change the account type from a Savings account to a Checking account, you're more than welcome to have your Savings account closed and funds transferred to your new Checking account. You can get all these done within one phone call!
We invite you to visit http://bit.ly/1oXjGgF to view and compare our Checking accounts or check out our Checking Selector Tool http://bit.ly/1vW1xnU for help selecting a Checking account that is the best fit you. As you have mentioned that you are interested in TD Convenient Checking account, you can view all the information and details of this product type directly from here: http://bit.ly/1kiKKf1.
Once you have decided the type of the Checking account you wish to open, you may feel free to call us directly 24/7 at (888) 751-9000 with any questions you may have and set up your new Checking account via telephone. Our friendly Banking Specialist will be more than happy to transfer the remaining funds from your Savings account to fund your new Checking account.
If you prefer to get all these transactions done at a local TD Store near you, you are more than welcome to drop by during normal lobby hours. To find out TD store locations near you, please visit, http://bit.ly/TDStores. You will need to bring a valid photo I.D. (Driver's License, Passport, Military I.D. etc.) and Social Security number.
If you are a Non-US resident and do not have SSN at this present time, you will need to bring two forms of identification with you and stop by your local TD Bank store during our lobby hours to set up your new account. One form of ID must be a Non-US passport and the second form of ID you may select from the list below:
- Employment ID with Photo and Signature
- State Issued ID or Driver's License with Signature
- Foreign Driver's License with Photo
- US Employment Authorization card with Photo, Signature and Expiration Date
- College ID with Photo
- Alien Registration Card with Photo
- Permanent Resident Card with Photo
We hope you find our answer helpful and please don't hesitate to return to TD Helps if you have any further questions.
