Welcome to TD Helps, Debra, and thank you for sending your question to TD Helps today.
Generally, in order to add another person to an existing TD Bank Checking or Savings Account, we ask that both parties (including the current account holder) visit a TD Bank Store, during lobby hours to speak with a Customer Service Representative. Please make sure to bring proper identification (Driver's License, State issued photo ID, Passport, etc.) and Social Security number with you. Check out: http://bit.ly/TDStores to find a TD Bank location and telephone number near you.
In a special event as you mentioned in your message, we would recommend having the existing account holder reach out to his or her local TD Bank store by telephone to determine if there is another option to add a person to his or her account without him or her being present.
We hope this helps, Debra. Have a wonderful day. We also wish a speedy recovery to our Customer.
