Welcome to TD Helps and thank you for sending us your question, Maireny.
Yes, you can certainly open a Savings account when you already have a Checking account with TD Bank. We invite you to take a look at the Savings accounts we currently offer, which are listed here: http://bit.ly/1hzzhPT. If you're not sure which account might suit you the best, you can also take advantage of our Savings Selector Tool, which is found here: http://bit.ly/1sxY9Rd, which provides a personalized recommendation for you based on your needs for the account.
Once you have decided the type of the Savings account you wish to open, you may visit www.tdbank.com or click here: http://bit.ly/1fN7u4i to take you directly to the account opening application. Additionally, you may also feel free to call us directly 24/7 at (888) 751-9000 with any questions you may have and set up your new account via telephone.
As always, you are welcome to stop by your nearest TD Bank store to speak with a Banking Specialist regarding new account options to determine what Savings account product type fits you the best. To find out TD Store locations near you, please visit, http://bit.ly/TDStores. You will need to bring a valid photo I.D. (Driver's License, Passport, Military I.D. etc.) and Social Security number.
If you are a Non-US resident and do not have SSN at this present time, you will need to bring two forms of identification with you and stop by your local TD Bank store during our lobby hours to set up your new account. One form of ID must be a Non-US passport and the second form of ID you may select from the list below:
- Employment ID with Photo and Signature
- State Issued ID or Driver's License with Signature
- Foreign Driver's License with Photo
- US Employment Authorization card with Photo, Signature and Expiration Date
- College ID with Photo
- Alien Registration Card with Photo
- Permanent Resident Card with Photo
Please reach out to us again though if you have any further questions. Have a great day!
