Thanks for coming by TD helps today, Margaret, we are more than happy to help!
If you make check deposits with a Teller, the first $100 is made available immediately. However; if you are a new account holder and your account has not been open for 30 consecutive days, check deposits can be held for 7-10 business days for verification purposes. After this grace period, not only will the first $100 be made available at the time of the deposit, the rest of the funds will be credited to your account on the following business day.
If you make a deposit at a TD Bank ATM before 8:00 PM on a business day, that deposit is considered deposits made on that business day. A business day is every day except Saturdays, Sundays, and federal holidays. If you make a deposit at an ATM after 8 PM, or on a non-business day, we will consider that the deposit was made on the following business day.
Please keep in mind that deposits made through mobile banking will not have the first $100 available on the same business day. In most cases, the full amount becomes available the following business day.
For example, in this case, you make a check deposit before 1:30 PM, if your account has been opened for 30 consecutive days or more, you will receive the first $100 immediately and the remaining could be available to you Saturday morning. Because there are exceptions that may cause delays in funds availability, we invite you to look at our Personal Deposit Account Agreement here: http://bit.ly/1kb17UQ. On pages 35-41 you can find our Funds Availability Policy along with information about when you'll have access to deposits.
We hope the information provided helps, Margaret. Please do not hesitate to let us know if you have any other questions. Have a wonderful day!
