Thank you for coming to TD Helps, Cindy.
Please note; third party checks can be deposited with a TD Bank Teller. In case you need instructions on how to endorse a third party check, we have got you covered.
A third party check is written to one party only and endorsed by that payee, who then endorses the check over to another person. For example, Joe Smith has a check made payable to him. He endorses the check on the back and writes, "pay to the order of Sue Jones." Sue Jones then endorses the check and wants to deposit it into her account. We can accept the check for deposit only into Sue Jones' account. An Endorsement Authorization & Release Form must be completed at the time of the deposit.
Please also keep in mind that government or insurance checks can only be presented for payment to the person listed on the "Payable to" line of the check, and for a check with two payees, these types of checks can only be deposited into a joint account naming both parties.
If you need additional assistance, we recommend contacting our Banking Specialists 24/7 at 888-751-9000. You may also feel free to visit your local TD Bank Store for further assistance. To find out TD Store locations near you, please visit, http://bit.ly/TDStores.
Hope this information helps and have a nice day!
