Hi Erin, thank you for visiting us here on TD Helps. We'd be glad to help!
If your account is currently overdrawn, when you make a check deposit and the funds become available, it will be used first to pay off the amount that was overdrawn. The remainder of the deposit will then become your available balance.
Please keep in mind that if you deposit a check at one of our ATMs, all of the funds will not become available immediately. Typically, for any check deposit made at a TD Bank ATM, the first $100.00 of your daily ATM deposits will be made available immediately if your account has been opened 90 days or greater. As long as you have made your deposit before 8:00 pm, the remaining funds will become available on the next banking day. However, deposits made through the ATM after 8:00 pm will be considered the next day's business and will post to your account on the following business day. For example, if you make an ATM deposit after 8:00 PM on a Friday, that deposit is considered to be on Monday's banking day and will post to your account on Tuesday.
If you'd like to take a look at this information in greater detail, we invite you to take a look at our Personal Account Agreement, http://bit.ly/1kb17UQ. Pages 38-41 detail all of our deposit availability information.
If you have any further questions, you can give us a call 24/7 by dialing 888-751-9000 or visiting your local TD Store. For hours and locations, please visit http://bit.ly/TDStores.
We hope this helps, Erin. Take care!
