Thank you for coming by TD Helps, Jerome! We'll be sure to provide you with some information regarding our check clearing practices.
Typically, the first $100.00 is made available immediately from a check deposit through a Teller if you've been a customer for at least 90 days. If you are a new account holder and your account has not been open for 30 consecutive days, Check Deposits can be held up to 7 business days for verification purposes. After this grace period, not only will the first $100.00 be made available at the time of deposit but the rest of the funds will credit to your account the following business day.
If you make a check deposit through the ATM, the first $100.00 of your daily ATM deposits will be made available immediately as long as your account has been opened 90 days or greater. Deposits made through the ATM before 8:00 PM will be available on the next banking day. However, deposits made through the ATM after 8:00 PM will be considered the next days' business and will post to your account on the following business day. If you make an ATM deposit after 8:00 PM on a Friday, that deposit is considered to be on Monday's banking day and will post to your account on Tuesday. Anytime a holiday falls on a Monday, the deposit will post to your account on Wednesday morning. If you deposit cash into a TD ATM, the funds will be available immediately in your account (for accounts opened longer than 90 days).
There are some circumstances where deposit could be held longer. Please check out our Personal Account Agreement, http://bit.ly/1kb17UQ . Pages 38-41 detail all of our deposit availability information.
We hope this helps, Jerome and let us know if you have any questions. Have a great weekend!
