When initiating a Person-to-Person payment, the receiver will be notified via text or email. After following the instructions provided in the text or email, they will then expect to receive the funds directly into their account.

It sounds as though you may be looking to send a Person to Person transfer, and if this is the case, we'll be more than happy to help!
Here at TD Bank, our free person to person transfer service, or Send Money, can be accessed right from your Online Banking. This service to easy to use, will allow you to transfer funds to anyone in the United States, and if you have never used it before, we'll be more than happy to walk you through the steps.
The first thing you'll want to do is log into your Online Banking, which you can do from here: https://go.td.com/1eaISlq. If you haven't yet enrolled in Online Banking, don’t worry! You can start the enrollment process by clicking here: https://go.td.com/1lU2qfY. In order to complete this process, you will need your account number, debit card number, a valid email address, and your Social Security Number.
Once you're able to fully access your Online Banking, towards the top of your screen, you should see a tab that reads 'Send Money'. If you have never used this service before, you may need to accept some terms and agreements, and after doing so, you will be brought directly to the Send Money feature.
Before sending funds, you'll need to obtain the email address, phone number, or account number of the person you'll be transferring funds to. Should you wish to send funds directly to their account, please know that you would need the routing number for their account as well. If you would rather send the funds to their email address, or via a text message, after you complete the transfer via your Online Banking, they will receive instructions on how they may proceed to have the funds transferred directly to their account.
If you haven't yet added them to your contacts, you can do so by clicking on the 'Add New Contact' towards the right side of your screen. Simply enter in their first and last name, and then select if you would like to send the funds to their phone, email address, or account number. After doing so, you will then be prompted to enter in their information for whichever method you choose.
After saving this information, you will be brought to the screen where you are able to select the amount you wish to send, and the delivery speed. Currently, for Instant Transfers, you need a TD Bank Visa Debit Card; however, you do not need a TD Bank Visa Debit Card for 3-day Transfers. Regardless of the delivery speed you choose, this service is still free.
After selecting the amount and the delivery speed, simply confirm the account you wish to have this transfer be debited from, and then click 'Review'. This will bring you to a final screen, and after ensuring that all the information provided is correct, you will be able to send your transfer!
