Thanks for writing us at TD Helps, Gigi. You came to the right place for information.
We'd like to let you know that here at TD; we take the security of your account with high priority. Anyone that transfers or deposits to your account does not have access to the available balance.
If your mom has a TD Bank account, they can use the Person-to-Person feature offered via Online Banking. This feature will allow your friend to send you money via text or email by creating a contact. To use this feature, one must be enrolled in Online Banking.
If your mom has not enrolled in Online Banking, they can do so for free here: http://bit.ly/1lU2qfY. To get the enrollment process started, she will need her Social Security number, TD Bank ATM/Visa Debit Card, account number, and her e-mail address. If there is no ATM/Debit card available, please have your mom contact us at 888-751-9000 to speak with a Specialist, 24/7 or please visit us during lobby hours for further assistance. For hours and locations near you please take a look at: http://bit.ly/TDStores.
Once your mom has successfully enrolled for Online Banking, please select the “Person-to-Person” tab to enroll for this feature. To use this feature you must have a US address and cell phone number, a US Social Security number and a valid e-mail address. Transfers cannot be made outside of the U.S. and must be in U.S. currency. For the Terms and Conditions in addition to information on the requirements, payment methods and amounts, please check http://bit.ly/1pADlWD.
If your mom does not have TD Bank, you, as a TD Bank customer, will have the option of requesting money from your mom by using the Person-to-Person feature by simply selecting the "Request Money" tab under the "Person-to-Person" tab after you log in.
Additionally, if your mom does not have an account at TD Bank, he or she has the option of initiating a wire transfer. Information needed to initiate this transfer depends on how the funds are being sent. To send a domestic wire she will need the name, address and ABA routing number of the receiving bank, the name of the account to be credited, the beneficiary address and your account number. Please see the following link for all applicable fees for wire transfers included in our fee schedule: http://bit.ly/1cTejgt. And please note that we do not process or disburse funds from wire transfers received designated Pay Upon Proper Identification (PUPID) and return them to the sender.
Keep in mind that your mom may also visit any TD location to simply fill out a deposit slip, and deposit funds to your account.
Thanks again for visiting us, Gigi. Let us know if you have any other questions and have a great night!
