If I have money on my savings but not on my checking, would my card be approved if I swipe it? Or if I tried to use my card online or ATM

Good Morning, Sam, and welcome to TD Helps!
Please note that your debit card is linked to your Checking account for any purchases. Although the funds may be available in your savings account, the debit card may be declined if there are not enough funds in your checking account for the transaction you are attempting to authorize.
TD Debit Card Advance is a discretionary overdraft service we offer with our checking accounts that may help you avoid debit card declines. If your account is enrolled in this service, we may allow you to authorize ATM transactions or one-time debit card purchases even if you don't have enough money available in your account. We ask that you take a look here: http://bit.ly/1voNBCy for more details and also here: http://bit.ly/Yv0ulC for more specific information.
Please note that as this is a discretionary service, a purchase or withdrawal on your account can be declined even if your account is enrolled in this feature. You're more than welcome to contact one of our Banking Specialists 24/7 at 888-751-9000, who can review your account and this service with you in more detail. Or, if you'll be nearby one of our Stores, feel free to stop in during our extended lobby hours. If you click here: http://bit.ly/TDStores, you can find the TD Bank Store and lobby hours nearest you.
We invite you to take a look here: https://go.td.com/1lmjVaq for helpful information on Savings Overdraft Protection.
Regarding ATM transactions in particular, if your savings account is linked to your debit card, you may still withdraw from that account at an ATM.
Please know that we would like to assist you directly however, TD Helps is considered an unsecured forum and we do not have access to your account/personal information.
We hope this helps, Sam, have a good day.
Natasha M, Mt. Laurel
