I want to open an account and I want to deposit my refund from school, but I would like to know if it's going to take a lot for the money to be available because I need it now.

Welcome to TD Helps, Gabriela. Thanks for considering TD Bank for your financial needs. We'll be happy to answer any questions you may have about the availability of deposits.
For new accounts that have been open less than 30 consecutive days, check deposits can be held for 7-10 business days for verification purposes. After this grace period, not only will the first $100 be made available at the time of deposit but the remainder of the funds will be available to your account on the following business day.
We invite you to take a look at our Personal Deposit Account Agreement found here: http://bit.ly/1kb17UQ. On pages 35-37 you can find our Funds Availability Policy.
We'd also like to take this opportunity to let you know the variety of accounts that TD Bank offers. For a listing of our Checking accounts check out: http://bit.ly/Wczmq0. We also suggest looking at our Checking selector tool here: http://bit.ly/1vW1xnU, it will provide you with a personalized Checking account recommendation.
