Welcome to TD Helps, Robert and thanks for the question.
We're pleased you're considering opening a Savings account with us. If you open the account online, you would be able to add your wife as a joint account holder at a later date. Once the account has been opened, you and your wife may visit any TD Bank location to add her to the account. We just ask that you both bring photo ID (Driver's license, state ID, Passport) and she will also need her Social Security number. For lobby hours please visit: http://bit.ly/TDStores.
Since we do offer a variety of Savings accounts to choose from, this link may help you in deciding which account is best for you and your wife: http://bit.ly/1vW1DvM.
Hope this helps, Robert and enjoy your day.
