Good afternoon, Jen and thanks for checking in with your question! We`re glad to you have you and hope your day is going well.
The clearing of your check can vary depending on the financial institution it is deposited at. If the individual that you wrote the check to banks with us and uses our Mobile Deposit feature to deposit your check, you can refer to the following guidelines to determine when the check may be presented to your account:
Typically, when a deposit is made using TD Mobile Deposit before 8:00 pm EST on a business day, the funds will be made available the following business day. This means that it will usually take one business day for the funds to be deducted from your account that the check is written against.
Please note that a business day is every day except Saturdays, Sundays, and Federal holidays. If a mobile deposit is made with TD after 8:00 pm EST on a business day or on any weekend or Federal holiday, the next business day will be considered the deposit date. In that case, the funds will probably be deducted from your account within one to two banking days. For more information, please take a look here: http://bit.ly/1ff8byL (the deposit availability details are listed in section 7). You can also take a look at our Personal Deposit Account Agreement: http://bit.ly/1kb17UQ on pages 38-41.
Please keep in mind that if the person depositing your check banks with another financial institution, either of you will want to contact that bank for additional information on their mobile deposit cutoff times and availability policies.
Feel free to contact our Tech Support Specialists for any questions you have about mobile deposit. They are available 24/7 at 800-493-7562, or you can stop in at your local TD Bank Store, http://bit.ly/TDStores.
Kindly also note that we recommend making sure that funds are available in your account prior to distributing any check written. If funds are not available in your account at the time the check is presented for payment, fees can occur and you can take a look at our current Fee Schedule here: http://bit.ly/1cTejgt for more information.
We hope this clears up your question, Jen! Thanks again for visiting and enjoy the rest of your week.
