Thanks for joining us today on TD Helps, Deborah.
If you currently have a joint account that you are looking to close, you'll be happy to know that only one person must be present to close the account. You may click here: http://bit.ly/TDStores to view our Store locations and hours.
If you are unable to stop by your local Store to close the account, and the balance is zero, you may send us your request by secure message, through online banking. To send a secure message, you will first want to log into your TD Bank online profile by clicking here: https://go.td.com/1eaISlq. Once you've successfully logged in, look for the 'Message Center' on the left hand side and select 'Send a secure message'. If you have downloaded our mobile banking app for your smartphone, you may also use this method to send a secure message. From your mobile banking, log in and select 'Send a Secure Message' from the side Menu. Please be sure to provide us with the account number you are requesting to close.
Lastly, you may give us a call directly at 888-751-9000, where we are available to assist 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Upon account verification, a Banking Specialist will be able to process your account closure request.
If you have any additional questions, please don't hesitate to reach back out to us here.
We hope this information helps, Deborah. Take care!
