Thank you for reaching out to us tonight Jay. We are aware of the recent reports of this merchant's security breach. We understand the concerns of making sure all of your funds are safe and secure, and we'd be happy to help discuss which actions to take.
TD Bank is keeping up with the events of the recent Anthem Blue Cross breach diligently. At this time, there have been no reports of any compromised payment activity. Please be assured that we have fraud detection processes in place to protect our customers.
Just in case, here are some general security tips to protect you from fraud:
-Be suspicious of anyone who calls or emails you seeking personal information.
-When you need to provide a Social Security number, Debit card or account numbers, or other confidential information- please ensure that you are providing this information to a reputable source and that you understand why it is being requested.
-Review bank statements for accuracy, and you should call the number listed on the back of your card with any questions or concerns about individual charges.
-Add security passwords to your accounts that are never shared and cannot be guessed.
We also invite you to take a look at our Security Center page here: http://bit.ly/1npPddy for some beneficial information. Please also give us a call anytime you'd like to review your account or answer any specific questions you may have. You can reach us 24/7 at 888-751-9000.
We thank you again for joining us on TD Helps, Jay. Please don't hesitate to reach out to us again for any more questions!
