Thanks for reaching us on TD Helps, Michelle. We understand that not everyone has the time to pay us a visit. You'll be happy to know that we do have some options for you!
You are able to use our Mobile Deposit feature from your smart phone if you are enrolled in Online Banking. Just in case you aren't already enrolled, you can do so by clicking here: http://bit.ly/1lU2qfY. You will need to have your account number, ATM/Visa Debit Card number, Social Security Number and email address handy to sign up. If you have any trouble or if you're missing a piece of information, don't worry. You are able to call us 24/7 by dialing 888-751-9000 and after account verification, our Representatives will be glad to assist you. If you do find the time to pay us a visit, you are able to enroll during lobby hours at any TD Store. For Store locations and hours please visit http://bit.ly/TDStores.
Once you're enrolled in Online Banking, you are able to download the Mobile Banking Application to any iPhone or Android device. Take a look here http://bit.ly/1opBqUt to learn more and download the App! Keep in mind that the user name and password that Mobile Banking will ask for are the same as Online Banking.
To make a Mobile Deposit, you must first log in to the App. Next, you will select "Deposit a Check." The App will then ask you to enter the check amount and then you'll need to select "Continue." Once you select "Continue," you will be asked to take a picture of both the front and back of the check. Be sure that you use a clear image to ensure accuracy. The next step will be to choose the account you're making your deposit into and select "Continue." Mobile Banking will then ask you to confirm your pictures, the account you're making a deposit into and the amount. If everything looks good, you can select "Deposit Check" to finish the process!
If you encounter any difficulty or you are unable to make a deposit, we ask that you contact our Tech Support Specialists 24/7 by dialing 800-493-7562. They will be happy to assist with any trouble you're having.
Keep in mind that there are limits to the amount of funds that you are able to deposit via the Mobile Banking App. Mobile Deposit limits depend on the length of your relationship with TD Bank. At this time, the limits to the amounts you can deposit using the Mobile Deposit feature is as follows:
3-6 months, deposit up to: - Daily Limit: $1,000 - 30-day Limit: $2,500
6-12 months, deposit up to: - Daily Limit: $2,500 - 30-day Limit: $3,500
More than 1 year, deposit up to: - Daily Limit: $2,500 - 30-day Limit: $6,000
Please note; the limits are subject to change. Additionally, the 30-day limit is rolling and does not follow the calendar month or the statement cycle. We invite you to take a look here: http://bit.ly/1e3jiYF for more information and to see the Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs) for TD Bank Mobile Deposit.
We also offer a Bank by Mail service at TD. All you would need to do is mail your deposit to the address below:
TD Bank, N.A.
P.O. Box Number 1190
Lewiston, Maine 04243
The P.O. Box is checked daily and transactions are posted the same day.
If you need to Fed-EX or UPS a mail in a Deposit to us, you can ship it to the address below:
TD Bank Bank by Mail
140 Mill Street
Lewiston, ME 04243
Also keep in mind that the TD Bank is not responsible for items lost in mail. Here are some additional tips to consider prior to mailing your deposit:
- Cash should not be sent through the mail
- Payee of the check and name on deposit ticket should be the same
- Checks should be endorsed (and restricted "for deposit only")
- Multiple checks should be listed and a total of the deposit listed
- Enclose the deposit ticket, not the carbon copy
- If using a blank deposit ticket, please write the account number clearly
- Do not staple transactions
Making a deposit at an ATM is also an option for you. You are able to make a deposit 24/7 by using a TD ATM. Feel free to use our Store Locator link provided above to find a TD ATM near you.
Be sure to sign any checks you plan on depositing. When at a TD ATM, input your Debit or ATM only card into the ATM and follow the below instructions (which will also be shown on the touchscreen):
- Enter your PIN
- Choose “Deposit”
- Select “Yes, To Continue”
- Choose the desired account type
- For deposit type, choose “check” or "cash"
- Hit “Continue when ready”
- Put in your deposit
- Make sure the deposit on the screen is correct
- Then, select “Finish Deposit”
- You will then have the option to choose “yes or no” for your receipt; if you select “yes” you will be able to view the check image on your receipt.
Keep in mind that you are also able to make deposits at non-TD ATMs as long as it is listed as a NYCE shared deposit ATM. Any deposits made at non-TD Bank ATMs will take longer to clear your account and we recommend converting cash into a non-monetary instrument such as a money order prior to making your deposit.
We recommend visiting http://bit.ly/1kb17UQ for more information on our Funds Availability Policy on pages 38-41. The link will detail the length of time each type of deposit takes to clear.
For any questions about a specific deposit you have made, feel free to contact us by using the numbers listed above, visiting a TD Store or via secure message while you're logged in to Online Banking.
We hope this information helps, Michelle and have a great day.
