I have a student checking/savings acct with TD Bank and am studying in the UK for a semester. What is my best option for transferring my funds with minimal fees? Do I need to open a UK bank acct?

Welcome to TD Helps, Danielle. We'd be glad to discuss.
Please know that if you're trying to send funds from TD Bank to the UK, this transfer would need to be completed by visiting any TD Store during lobby hours. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause.
To take a look at Store locations and their hours please visit http://go.td.com/1f9DSJR.
To send an international wire all you need is:
· The full name, address, including city, state/province, country and account number of the person/business (for Euro Zone countries – IBAN – International Banking Account Number) you are sending money to
· The full name and address, including city, state/province and country of the financial institution receiving the funds
We also recommend reaching out to the other financial institution to determine if any additional information is required.
Keep in mind that there may be fees associated with the sending of a wire transfer. To learn more please visit http://go.td.com/1cTejgt.
If you were to open an account in the UK, you would be able to wire funds you have there to your US account.
If you have further questions, feel free to reach our Banking Specialists 24/7 at 856-751-9000 or 215-569-0518 collect from a land line telephone.
Thanks for your question, Danielle. Have a good day.
