I'm a US citizen currently living and working in Canada. I do have a TD Canada account (and Borderless) with my wife (Canadian Citizen). I do wire transfers from my TD Canada to Wells Fargo account twice a month, and as you can imagine that gets expensive. Wells Fargo is not an authorized back to do The Visa Debit transfer program, so our last option is to consider a TD America Checking account. So, with all that being said here are my questions.
1) Am I able to set-up a TD America account online?
2) Does TD America allow transfers to Wells Fargo N.A. (This would be for paying bills)
3) Can we transfer money from a TD Canada Borderless to a TD America account even if I do not have Canadian Resident or Citizenship status?
4) Is there a monthly cost to keep the TD America account open?
5) Can transfers from TD Canada Borderless to TD America be done online?
Thanks for your time!

Thank you for considering TD for your banking needs on both sides of the border, Michael.
Here at TD Bank, America's Most Convenient Bank, there is no set amount that you need to open an account nor you must keep in your account; however, some accounts do require a daily minimum balance to avoid a monthly maintenance fee. To view and compare our personal Checking accounts, visit http://bit.ly/1aDaRqd or check out our Checking Selector Tool http://bit.ly/1vW1xnU for help with selecting a Checking account that is the best fit you.
If you currently have a U.S. street address within our footprint, which is from Maine to Florida, a U.S. Social Security Number and a valid U.S. ID, you should be open a new Checking with us online from here: http://bit.ly/1fN7u4i. If you do not have any of the above info, you can speak with a Representative from our TD Cross Border Banking Support Line 24/7 by calling 1-877-700-2913, who can also assist you in opening the account by phone.
Once your new TD U.S. Checking account is set up, you can transfer funds between your U.S. TD account and your Canadian TD account by speaking with a Representative from our TD Cross Border Banking Support Line at the same telephone number listed above (press 1 for English, 2 for French) and this service is available to both U.S. and Canadian Customers 24/7. Upon proper verification, you will be able to request cross border transfers at free of charge. We apologize as this type of transfer is not currently available via online banking.
Also, you may be able to use our External Transfer service to transfer funds from your new TD U.S. account to your PNC Bank account. In order to be eligible to use our External Transfer service, you must have a United States address, a unique United States phone number, a United States issued Social Security number and a valid unique email address. You must also be enrolled for Online Banking and be using a personal TD Bank Checking, Savings or Money Market account for the transfer. You’re welcome to check out http://bit.ly/1jXKYqq for all of the details of this service.
We hope the information provided help. Let us know if you have any further questions. Thank you again for banking with TD and we hope you have a great day, Michael!
