Great to hear you might be traveling soon! Thanks for including us in your planning.
To place your travel notification with us, we invite you to get in touch with us by phone. You can do so by calling our Customer Service line 24/7 at 888-751-9000, and we will be happy to place a note on your account. We see that you're writing to us from New York; however, in case you have already left the country, please call us from outside the United States via phone at 1-856-751-9000, or collect with operator assistance from a land line phone by asking the operator to dial 1-215-569-0518.
Another easy way to set a travel notification, especially if you have already left, is to send us a Secure Message from your TD Bank Online Banking account. Please log in here: http://bit.ly/1eaISlq with your user name and password. You can then send us a secure message by clicking on the Customer Service tab, and using the Send a Message link. Please include your exact travel dates, destinations and any connecting flight information if applicable.
TD Bank does not charge any foreign transactions fees for purchases made with your TD Bank Visa debit card. We would like to take the opportunity to advise you about fees that can be incurred while using international ATMs.
Each withdrawal, transfer, and balance inquiry made at an ATM not owned by TD is subject to a $3.00 fee, which is charged by TD Bank the same day the transaction is made. This may be in addition to any fee assessed by the owner of the ATM or network, and may include fees for both withdrawals and balance inquiries. A copy of our current Fee Schedule can be found here: http://bit.ly/1cTejgt. If you use any ATM in a foreign country, you may also incur international, currency exchange and usage fees regardless of the type of account you have at TD Bank. Please refer to http://bit.ly/1kb17UQ (page 45) for more information about what type of fees to expect.
Depending on the type of account you have with us, your non-TD ATM fees may be reimbursed with a $2500.00 daily minimum balance. Please check out our Fee Schedule link above for information about the type of accounts needed to avoid a non-TD ATM fee.
If you have one of these account types, we suggest keeping your foreign ATM transaction receipts. We want to make sure you are properly reimbursed for your fees! If your non-TD ATM fees are not automatically refunded to you, you can take these receipts to your local TD Bank store within 90 days for an immediate credit.
Just in case you would like to use your TD Bank Visa Credit Card while traveling, please call 1-888-561-8861 to place your travel notification 24/7 with a TD Card Services Representative.
Please keep in mind, a travel notification helps us recognize unauthorized transactions on your account. Please be informed that for your protection we will continue to monitor your card activity even when a notification is set. We also recommend carrying more than one method of payment while traveling, just in case you encounter any acceptance issues. For more travel tips while overseas, please visit http://bit.ly/1gDrDYu. We hope this helps with a smooth trip, Chaitram!
Thanks again for your message and we hope you have a wonderful time.
