I closed out a US checking account a couple days ago because I moved permanently to another country. Now, I am having trouble depositing the check with the whole account balance because it is a US check. The bank I am using will not allow it. I was told by TD Bank that if I wanted to close out the account, I had to do it from US soil. Is there some other way of going about getting my money from TD Bank into my current account, some way that TD Bank can help me with this? Or... Is it possible for a physical closed out account check from TD Bank to be reversed and the account amount wire transferred to a foreign account?

Thank you for reaching us on TD Helps, Elise.
We apologize for any inconvenience however once an account with TD is closed, it cannot be reopened. A new account would need to be established at a TD Store during lobby hours.
We recommend speaking to your local institutions to determine how to negotiate the check drawn off of TD Bank.
If you would like to discuss this with a Representative, feel free to contact us 24/7 from overseas by dialing 856-751-9000 or you can call collect from a landline at 215-569-0518.
Again we apologize for any inconvenience, Elise and take care.
