Happy Friday, Sophia, and welcome to TD Helps.
This is a great question!
We know that our Customer's needs are always changing, and in the event that an account you may have is no longer a good suit for you, you're generally able to connect with one of our Specialist, and we'll be happy to make any product changes for you. However, please understand that, at this time, we are only able to change your account to another product within that same account type.
As you mentioned that you were hoping to change your Student Checking account to a Savings account, we apologize for any inconvenience as we would be unable to make this change at this time. However, please don't worry, as we'll still be able to help!
In the event that you're no longer interested in owning a Checking account, and would like to now own a Savings account, we'd like to recommend that you open a new Savings account, and once the funds have been transferred, you may then close your Student Checking account. We have plenty of different Savings accounts to fit everyone's needs, and if you believe that transferring your funds would suit your needs, we invite you to check out the link here: https://go.td.com/2bSlkVn to review the Savings accounts we currently have available.
When you're ready to open your new account, we have a couple different options available to you to do so. First, you may use the link above, and after finding the account of your choosing, simply click on the orange 'Open Account' button. If you'd prefer to speak with one of our Specialist, you may dial 1-888-751-9000 to speak with a Specialist, 24/7, or you may also visit your nearest TD Store location. Customer Service Representatives are happy to help during lobby hours, and we invite you to use the link here: http://go.td.com/1f9DSJR to find your nearest Store location, as well as their lobby hours and contact information.
Once your new Savings account has been successfully opened, you're welcome to connect with us at any of the methods mentioned above, and we'll be happy to assist you with closing your Student Checking account!
You may also connect with us in regard to any questions or concerns you may have. We're always happy to help!
It was great hearing from you today, Sophia, and we hope you have a fantastic weekend.
