I'm leary of sending cash thru the mail and wonder if a money order makes it any safer, and worth the $5 for a money order.

Thanks for stopping by TD Bank today, Gloria. We'd love to point you in the right direction.
Whenever making payments by mail, we recommend sending a Money Order or check, rather than cash.
Money orders purchased at a TD Bank Store can be made payable to an individual, and if a money order is presented to be cashed at a TD Bank Store, the customer will be asked to provide valid identification.
If for any reason a money order purchased from TD Bank is lost in the mail, we can place a stop payment on the item for you and re-issue it to you after 24 hours, provided that it has not yet been paid.
In addition, some TD Bank accounts qualify for a waiver of the fee for purchasing a money order. Please see our current Fee Schedule at: http://bit.ly/1cTejgt to determine if your account is eligible for this waiver.
Money Orders can be purchased at any TD Bank Store location. To find a TD store location near you, please visit, http://bit.ly/TDStores.
We hope this information helps, Gloria and have a great day.

I looked at the current Fee Schedule and my checking account TD 50 PLUS CHECKING is not on the list at all in order for me to determine if there is a fee for a money order or not. Has it been replaced with TD 60 Plus Checking?
Is there a fee for a money order for a TD 50 PLUS CHECKING account?
Thank you for your response. It was very helpful. The only advantage I see for writing a check as opposed to sending a money order, is that you know for sure when someone has cashed the check. With a money order, you don't. It's true of cash also for obvious reasons.

Is there a limit on how many free money orders my TD Bank 50 Plus Checking account is eligible for? Such as number of money orders/month?
