Traveling is always exciting. We'll be happy to provide some helpful information and tips before your travels!
You'll be happy to know that while traveling, you can use your TD Bank Debit Card at millions of locations worldwide that accept VISA and you'll be able to make ATM withdrawals from any machine that displays the VISA or PLUS logo. TD Bank does not charge any kind of foreign transaction fees however; non-TD ATM fees may still apply. You can review non-TD ATM and other fees by clicking this link: https://go.td.com/2kFZ5mK.
You may also obtain a Visa Cash Advance. While TD Bank does not charge for this service, fees may be assessed by the local financial institution. Please know that all transactions processed internationally will post to your account in US currency.
To avoid any interruptions to your TD debit card, we request that you place a travel notification on your account. You can do so by calling Customer Service 24/7 at 888-751-9000 or by visiting a nearby TD Bank Store. You can find locations and hours here: https://go.td.com/2ncRYqz.
You may also send your travel notification via secure message by logging in here: https://go.td.com/1eaISlq.
Providing us with your travel details will help us be aware if we see foreign transactions on your account. However, please know that for your protection we will continue to monitor your card activity which means that you may still receive a purchase verification call. If you have a cell phone, you may want to add that number to your account so we can reach you in case we need to verify a purchase on your account. You can update your contact information under the "Customer Service" section of your Online Banking.
Please know that we recommend that you carry more than one method of payment while traveling, just in case you encounter any acceptance issues.
