I'm a Canadian moving to Seattle in 2015. I was really excited to see that TDBank operates in the US, but it seems you are only on the East Coast.
I don't know what banking in the US is like. Is TDBank still a reasonable choice if I'm living in Seattle?
If I can do everything online, including international transfers, setting up accounts, applying for new banking products, etc, then it would be OK. If I need to visit a branch, for any reason, I think it won't work out.
I'd still like to bank with TD, but I have a funny feeling it would be too difficult.

Welcome to TD Helps, Dave and thank you for considering TD for your banking needs!
As it sounds like you already bank with our affiliate, TD Canada Trust, you'll be happy to know that there are many benefits to banking with us in both Canada and the US!
We invite you to take a look at our variety of Checking and Savings accounts. To view and compare our Checking accounts, visit http://bit.ly/1oXjGgF or try our Checking Selector Tool http://bit.ly/1vW1xnU for help selecting a checking account that is the best fit for you. To view and compare Savings account products, click on http://bit.ly/1g5vhXQ, or if you prefer, we also have a Savings Selector Tool at http://bit.ly/1vW1DvM which can help you choose the best Savings account for your needs.
If you are a Canadian resident and have a legal address there, you'll be happy to know that you can visit http://bit.ly/1ishIab to begin an account with TD Bank in the United States online. Please click on the Open a U.S. Account button on the right side. On the page which follows, additional information about the products we offer is available. Use the Open Account buttons to select your account and begin the application process.
If you prefer, you can speak with a Representative from our TD Cross Border Banking Support Line 24/7 by calling 1-877-700-2913, who can also assist you in opening the account by phone.
With either method, we request that you provide your name, street address, date of birth, Social Insurance number and valid identification to complete the account opening process. Please keep in mind that your Canadian consumer credit profile will also be used to verify your identity.
We understand your concern about banking with TD while our locations are located from Maine to Florida. We'd like to let you know that we are committed to your satisfaction as a Customer and we offer a variety of ways to make banking wherever you are easy. We encourage you to find out more about the services we offer and see if they meet your needs by giving us a call using the number listed above. Our Specialists will be happy to review our services in more detail with you.
For example, after your account has been opened, you may enroll in Online Banking that will allow you to schedule bills, make transfers and more! Keep in mind that transfers made online can only be sent within the US. International transfers between your TD Bank and TD Canada Trust accounts can be made over the phone 24/7 free of charge by using our Cross Border Banking Support line mentioned above. Please note that any other international transfers would need to be conducted at a TD Store. We also offer a mail-in deposit service and a Mobile Banking application for deposits when not near one of our locations!
We hope this helps your decision making process, Dave and have a great evening!
