IS TDbank requiring people to change their user name on their accounts if they contain special characters? Want to know if this request is real

With TD Bank's new online update, we recommend changing your User Name before November 13th, 2017.
We can confirm that the email you received was a legitimate notice.
To change your online banking User Name, you first must be logged on here: https://go.td.com/1eaISlq. Once logged in, please click on the Customer Service tab, then click on 'Change User Name'. The link to change your Password is right below it.
We have made a few changes, in regard to the User Name requirements, below.
-Must begin with a letter
-Can include letters, numbers, underscore (_) or period (.)
-Spaces, email addresses, card numbers, or Social Security Numbers cannot be used
