We appreciate you reaching out to us on TD Helps, Savannah.
If you are looking to make an international transaction with a TD Debit Card, we offer many types of Checking Accounts that can be used for international transactions. Take a look here: http://bit.ly/1f9fEn9 for detailed information about each checking account available. We recommend taking a look at our Checking selector tool here: http://bit.ly/ChckSelctor. It will provide you with a personalized checking account recommendation.
We currently offer many ways in which you can open an account with TD Bank. You’re able to call our 24/7 Customer Service Line at 888-751-9000, visit our website at http://bit.ly/1g5vhXQ or stop by at any local TD Bank Store. To find the nearest TD Bank Store please visit http://bit.ly/TDStores.
Keep in mind that to open the accounts you will need to supply a valid Identification (State License, State ID or Passport) and your Social Security Number.
When making an ATM withdrawal from an international location, please make sure that the ATM machine displays either the VISA or PLUS logo. The TD Bank Debit Card may also be used to obtain a VISA Cash Advance if a compatible ATM is not available. Please note non-TD ATM fees still may apply. Cards bearing the Visa logo are accepted at locations all over the world. Many ATMs outside the United States limit withdrawals to checking accounts only, TD Bank Online can be used to transfer money from your savings account to your checking account should more funds be needed. We also recommend carrying more than one method of payment while traveling, just in case you encounter any acceptance issues. For more travel tips while overseas, please visit http://bit.ly/1gDrDYu.
Please keep in mind, if TD Bank was not informed of the travel arrangements it is recommended you call and place a Travel Notification on your checking account. You can do so, by calling our Customer Service Line at 856-751-9000 or collect with operator assistance from a land line phone by asking the operator to dial 1-215-569-0518. If you are set up for online banking, another option would be to send a secured message using www.tdbank.com and request the Travel Notifications be added to your account. To send a secured message you must first logon to your TD Bank online profile. You can do so by clicking here: http://bit.ly/1eaISlq . If you have not enrolled for Online Banking, you can do so for free by following this link: http://bit.ly/1lU2qfY. You will need your account number, Social Security number, your email address and your current TD ATM/Debit card. Once set-up and logged in, you should see an option to "Send a secure message" located in the “Message Center” on the top right side of the page.
