Thanks for including us as you prepare to visit Montreal, Christian! Great question and we'll be glad to help.
First, we'd like to let you know that TD Bank does not charge any foreign transactions fees for purchases made with your TD Bank Visa Debit card.
While traveling in Canada, you will be glad to know that if you withdraw funds at any TD Canada Trust ATM, you will not be assessed with any fees! To help you find TD Canada Trust ATMs near your travel destinations, please click here: http://bit.ly/1cZWU5e.
Otherwise, each withdrawal, transfer, and balance inquiry made at an ATM not owned by TD is subject to a $3.00 fee at this time, which is charged by TD Bank the same day the transaction is made (subject to change). Feel free to review our most recent Fee Schedule here: http://bit.ly/1cTejgt. This may be in addition to any fee assessed by the owner of the ATM or network, and may include fees for both withdrawals and balance inquiries.
Depending on the type of account you have with us, your non-TD ATM fees may be reimbursed with a $2500.00 daily minimum balance. Please check out the link above and view the chart for information about the type of accounts needed to avoid non-TD ATM fees.
If you use any ATM in a foreign country, you may also incur international, currency exchange and usage fees regardless of the type of account you have at TD Bank. Please refer to http://bit.ly/1kb17UQ (pg. 45) for more information about what type of fees to expect.
For more information regarding a TD Bank Visa Credit card you may have with us, feel free to reach a Card Services Specialist 24/7 at 888-561-8861, who can review any applicable fees with that account.
Hope this answers your question, Christian and have a great time on your trip!
