Thanks for stopping by TD Helps, Allison! We're sorry to hear that you're looking to close your account. We'll be happy to answer your answer your question.
There is no fee for closing an account with us and the account can only be closed when the balance reaches a zero balance.
First, we'd like to let you know that we are committed to your satisfaction as a Customer. If you have any questions or concerns about your banking experiences, we invite you to discuss them with us at a TD Store. We're available near you and would like to hear from you; please find your closest Store and lobby hours here: http://bit.ly/TDStores.
If you still would like to close a personal account, there are a few ways that you can do that. You can contact our 24/7 Customer Service line at 888-751-9000 and one of our Banking Specialists can submit the request to close your account. Please note that if there any automatic payments or deposits post to your account within 72 hours of the account closure request, it can prevent the account from closing. You could also send a secured message through online banking requesting the account to be closed as well. To send a secured message, sign into your account, click on the ''Customer Service'' tab and then select ''Send A Message''. Another option would be visiting any TD Bank location during lobby hours.
Signing up for Online Banking is quick and easy. First, make sure you have your account number, TD Bank ATM/Debit Card, Social Security number and, email address handy. Once you do, please visit here http://bit.ly/1lU2qfY to begin the enrollment process. After selecting the link, you will be asked to choose "Personal" or "Business." When you select continue, you will have to read and accept the Online Banking Service Agreement. Then you will be asked to enter your personal information including the items mentioned earlier. Finally you will be asked to create three security questions. When you finish the enrollment process, you will have immediate access to your account(s).
If you do not have the required information to set up for your Personal Online Banking, that’s okay. We can provide other options for you. You may contact us 24/7 at 1-800-493-7562 to speak with a dedicated Digital Banking Specialist. After account verification, we would be happy to help get you enrolled.
If the account in question happens to be a TD Business Simple, you can do so at any TD Bank Store.
