Thanks for making a stop at TD Helps, Karen. The amount you wish to transfer varies depending on the type of transfer you are looking to initiate and we'd be happy to help provide more details.
If you are looking to transfer between your TD accounts, there are no transfer amount limits. However, please keep in mind that there are limits to the amount of transfers you may initiate from your TD Savings to your TD Checking. You can make up to 6 electronic transfers a month without being assessed an excessive funds transfer fee. Electronic transfers include; pre-authorized, automatic or telephone transfers or payments. There is a fee for each transfer that exceeds the limit. For more information on the fee schedule, please take a look here: http://bit.ly/1cTejgt (listed under "Other"). We invite you to view the transactions which are limited for Money Markets and Savings accounts:
- Pre-authorized ACH – Automated Clearing House debits (health club fees, insurance premiums, car payments and mortgage payments).
- Pre-authorized transfers (Overdraft protection, transfers to Holiday Club and transfers to a checking account).
- TD Bank Online Banking and Telephone Banking transfers (transfers that are debited from the Money Market or Savings account).
- Request made via phone or fax for transfers (a request made by phone falls in the unlimited category if a check is mailed to the depositor as a result of the phone transaction)
- A check drawn on the account to any payee (this type of transaction is limited to checking accounts and MMDA accounts)
- Debit Card purchases (this type of transaction is limited to checking accounts)
- Wire transfers
Transactions that will not incur the excess transfer fee are Over-the-Counter (OTC) withdrawals, ATM withdrawals, ATM transfers, Transfers for paying TD Bank loans and Transfers originated in person, by messenger or by mail.
If you are looking to initiate a funds transfer from your TD account to another account you have with a different Financial Institution (External Transfer) or transfer funds to an individual regardless of Institution (Person-to-Person Payments), we'd like to inform you that there are limits to the amount you may send.
To confirm your transfer limit amount for your External Transfer option, after you log in here: http://bit.ly/1eaISlq. After you log in, please locate the "Transfers" tab then the "Transfer to Accounts Outside TD Bank." Please select the "Exclamation Mark" located beside the "Amount" field, once you do, a window will then appear allowing you to view the limits for each accounts.
To locate your Person-to-Person payments limits, please select the "Person-to-Person Payments" tab, and then click on the "Send Money" tab. After you select the contact you wish to send funds to, a "View Limits" link will appear beside the "Amount" field. If you click on that link, a side window will pop up showing you your transfer amount limits.
Lastly, if you are inquiring about the amount you can transfer when initiating a wire transfer, we are glad to inform you that wire transfers are unlimited to the amount you wish to send.
