If I only have three dollars in my account and I want to purchase something that is five dollars and some change, will I be able to purchase it with the overdraft protection plan?

Welcome to TD Helps, Kendra. We'd be happy to provide some useful information.
First, we'd like to mention that it sounds like you are inquiring about our TD Debit Card Advance feature. If so, please note that this is an optional overdraft service we offer with our checking accounts that may help you avoid debit card declines. If your account is enrolled in this service, we may allow you to authorize ATM transactions or one-time debit card purchases even if you don't have enough money available in your account. For more details of how much you are able to overdraw your account by without assessing a fee, please check out: http://bit.ly/1vbTVMI. We also invite you to take a look here: http://bit.ly/1voNBCy for more details on this feature and here: http://bit.ly/Yv0ulC for more specific information.
Please note that as this is a discretionary service, a purchase or withdrawal on your account can be declined even if your account is enrolled in this feature. As the amount you may be able to advance can fluctuate depending on your account specifically, we apologize that we're unable to provide you with a specific figure.
We invite you to contact one of our Banking Specialists 24/7 at 888-751-9000, who can review your account and this service with you in more detail. Or, if you'll be nearby one of our Stores, feel free to stop in during our extended lobby hours. If you click here: http://bit.ly/TDStores, you can find the TD Bank Store and lobby hours nearest you.
If your account is not enrolled in this service, Kendra and you're inquiring about another form of overdraft protection you may have, you're also welcome to reach us as above and we can tell you more about your limits at that time.
We hope this helps and please have a great day!
