Hello Ecaterina and thank you for writing us,
We're sorry to hear about any confusion with the wiring process.
We can certainly provide some clarification for you. When wires are sent internationally, the services of correspondent and/or intermediary banks may be used during the transfer process. While TD Bank may assess a fee for the receipt of a wire, the sending bank is responsible for the selection of its intermediary bank(s) and can better advise you about their fees.
We suggest speaking with the bank you used to send the wire, who can provide detailed information about the bank they used and any fees that might be deducted from the transfer amount sent. They might also be able to advise if any other transfer options are available.
If you have any questions, we'll be glad to assist you. Your daughter can reach us 24/7 at 888-751-9000, or she can visit any local TD Bank Store. Please see a listing of our Store locations here: http://bit.ly/TDStores. If you're in Italy at this time, you can feel free to contact us from outside the United States via phone at 1-856-751-9000, or collect with operator assistance from a land line phone by asking the operator to dial 1-215-569-0518, also 24/7.
Hope this sheds some light, Ecaterina.
All the best to you and wishing you a great Sunday!
