Thank you for your interest in banking with TD, Simon.
You'll be happy to know that joint account holders do not have to be related. Joint accounts can be opened in person at any TD Bank location. Please keep in mind that all account holders must be present for the account opening process.
When you visit, each account signer will need their Social Security number and a valid personal identification such as a Driver's license, State ID, or Passport.
We encourage you to review our Checking accounts here: https://go.td.com/2aKRsaa, or use our Checking Account Selector at: https://go.td.com/1vW1xnU to find an account which suits both of your needs. To view and compare our Savings account products, click on https://go.td.com/1pJT9I9 , or if you prefer, we also have a Savings Selector Tool: https://go.td.com/1vW1DvM which can help you choose the best savings account for your needs.
If you prefer, you may choose to open the account by yourself. Then, you can always visit your nearest TD Bank during lobby hours to add the joint owner. In this case, you're welcome to begin the account online at the links above, or you can give us a call 24/7 at 888-751-9000 and a friendly Specialist can help you.
When you're ready to visit a Store, you'll be happy to know that we offer convenient Store hours and locations. Please look here: https://go.td.com/1f9DSJR for a listing in your area.
We hope this helps, Simon and have a good day.
