Im an existing Canadian customer who just moved to San Francisco and would like to get an American account.
My husband and I would really like a joint account, but in all the research I have done we would have to go to a TD bank but there are none in California. What do we do?

Hi there Carla!
Great to hear from one of our Canadian Customers and welcome to the States! We hope your move went well and you're enjoying San Francisco so far.
We appreciate that you'd like to continue your banking relationship with us now that you're in the U.S. You are correct to notice that in order to open a joint account with us here, both prospective owners must be present at one of our Stores together to complete the necessary documentation including signature cards. Seeing that you're in California, we can recommend that you contact your preferred TD Store to determine if they can provide any other option for you given your location. You can see http://bit.ly/TDStores to search all of our Stores and their contact info.
As another option, either (or both) of you could open an individual account with us here at TD Bank U.S. and then add the other owner at a later time when you'll both be in our area to stop in.
We invite you to review TD Bank U.S. checking account options here: http://bit.ly/1oXjGgF, or you can use our checking selector at http://bit.ly/1vW1xnU. And our savings products are listed here: http://bit.ly/1hzzhPT, or use our savings selector at http://bit.ly/1sxY9Rd.
If either of you do choose to begin the account individually at first, feel free to get in touch with us by phone to get started. You can give us a call 24/7 at 877-700-2913 to speak with one of our Cross-Border Banking Specialists, who can best assist you.
We certainly hope we can work this out with you, Carla as we'd love to have you aboard.
Feel free to write back with any questions or give us a call at the number just above.
Thanks again and we wish you a great weekend!
