i'd like to open a kid's bank account for my daughter (presumably her as the main owner, with me as a joint holder). Can I open this online?

Thank you for joining us here at TD Helps, Edward. You came to the right place for information and thank you for considering TD Bank for your banking needs.
We are happy to help your family save for the future. We offer many types of Savings Accounts that can fit your needs. We recommend taking a look at http://bit.ly/1hzzhPT for more detailed information on each particular Savings Account available at TD Bank. You may find it helpful to check out our customized Savings Selector tool, found here: http://bit.ly/1sxY9Rd.
If your daughter is 18 years of age or younger, we will require a joint account holder or a custodian on the account as well. We do offer some products which are designed specifically for minors. You may click the following link to view and compare Savings account products http://bit.ly/1g5vhXQ, or if you prefer, we also have a Savings Selector Tool http://bit.ly/1vW1DvM which can help you choose the best Savings account for your needs. To set up a joint account with a minor, both parties are required to visit a TD Bank Store and be present for the account opening process. To find a TD Store location near you, please visit, http://bit.ly/TDStores. Please keep in mind that your child will need to provide a valid form of identification such as a State License, State ID or Passport. Acceptable forms of identification for minors include; School ID (preferably with a picture), Passport, US Birth Certificate or Social Security Card.
If your daughter is over the age of 18, they would be able to open the account without a joint account holder. Once your daughter has decided on the type of the account to open, please have her use this link: http://bit.ly/1fN7u4i to open an account online. They are also welcome to call us directly 24/7 at (888) 751-9000 with any questions or to set up the new account via telephone.
Edward, we hope you find our answers helpful and please don’t hesitate to return to TD Helps if you have any further questions.
