I have a 50 Plus checking account. When I opened the account, I was told that there was no maintenance fee but I just found out that I have been charged $9 per month for Debit maintenance. I don't use the debit card at all. Is it possible to stop the maintenance fee?

Welcome back to TD Helps, Chih-Ping! We're sorry for any confusion with your account and would be happy to assist you.
On some of our Checking accounts, there is a minimum daily balance required in order to avoid a monthly maintenance fee. If your account falls below the required minimum balance, the maintenance fee would be assessed on the last day of the statement cycle. Please note that TD Bank does not assess any type of monthly fee at this time to use or have your debit card for purchases.
Because we do not have access to your personal information since this is considered an unsecured forum, we encourage you to contact our 24/7 Customer Service line at 888-751-9000 and a Customer Service Representative would be happy to review your account with you. As you mentioned that you`re traveling, you can also contact us from outside the United States via phone at 1-856-751-9000, or collect with operator assistance from a land line phone by asking the operator to dial 1-215-569-0518. While you're on the phone with one of our dedicated Banking Specialists, they'll also be more than happy to offer some suggestions in order to avoid future maintenance fees.
We hope this is helpful information, Chih-Ping and let us know what else we can do for you. Take care and stop by again!
