I have a 50 Plus checking account. When I opened the account, I was told that there was no maintenance fee but I just found out that I have been charged $9 per month for Debit maintenance. I don't use the debit card at all. Is it possible to stop the maintenance fee?

On some of our Checking accounts, there is a minimum daily balance required in order to avoid a monthly maintenance fee. If your account falls below the required minimum balance, the maintenance fee would be assessed on the last day of the statement cycle. Please note that TD Bank does not assess any type of monthly fee at this time to use or have your debit card for purchases.

As you mentioned that you`re traveling, you can also contact us from outside the United States via phone at 1-856-751-9000, or collect with operator assistance from a land line phone by asking the operator to dial 1-215-569-0518. While you're on the phone with one of our dedicated Banking Specialists, they'll also be more than happy to offer some suggestions in order to avoid future maintenance fees.
