We're sorry to hear you're having trouble using your debit card, Alla. We'd like to help.
If the ATM you're using is not accepting your debit card for withdrawal, you may also have the option of doing a cash advance with a bank teller. To do this, visit a bank there in Turkey and request to do a Visa Cash Advance with the teller. Your card will be used to withdraw funds and that transaction should post as a Visa purchase, rather than a withdrawal. While TD Bank does not charge a fee for doing this type of transaction, we recommend confirming with the bank that you use there if they will be charging a fee to perform this service.
We also recommend reaching out to us by phone or secure message through your online or mobile banking to confirm that there are no blocks on your debit card and that a travel note has been placed. To reach us by phone from outside of the United States, use country code 011 and call 856-751-9000 or call us collect with operator assistance from a land line phone by asking the operator to dial 1-215-569-0518. For your convenience, we are available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. To send us a secure message, log into your TD Bank online profile by clicking here: https://go.td.com/1eaISlq. Once you've successfully logged in, look for the 'Message Center' on the left hand side and select 'Send a secure message'. From your Mobile Banking, log in and select 'Send a Secure Message' from the side Menu. Be sure to be detailed in your message as to what's occurred, as well as your travel plans so your card can be notated. We can generally respond within 24 hours or less.
