Hi, I have a checking and savings account with TD and I would like to know if I need to get a money order or a cashier's check is it free or do I have to pay? And if yes, how much would each be?

Hey Elizabeth, thanks for joining us today. TD Helps is available to address all of your banking needs!
Typically, there is a fee to get a Money Order or Official (Cashier's) Check from the bank. Currently, there is a $5.00 fee to receive a Money Order and an $8.00 fee to receive an Official Check. Please note that these fees are subject to change and you can review our most up-to-date Personal Fee Schedule here: http://bit.ly/1cTejgt.
Since you mentioned that you are already a TD Bank Customer however, please know that these fees may be waived depending on the type of account(s) that you have with us. If you currently have one of the following products, then any fees for Money Orders or Official Checks are waived as a courtesy:
• TD Sixty Plus Checking

As a TD customer, when I go to a branch for a money order, can the amount be drawn on my account or should I withdraw the cash first? What other information should I bring with me for a money order?

Thanks for joining the conversation, Shea. We'd be more than happy to answer your questions.
Upon your visit to obtain a Money Order, you will want to make sure that you know the exact amount of the Money Order you wish to purchase. Please keep in mind, the limit for a Money Order is $1000. If the amount exceeds the limit, you may purchase multiple Money Orders or you may request an Official Check instead. Also, if you have sufficient funds in your account to cover this purchase, simply fill out a withdrawal ticket with the full amount (including fee).
If you have any additional questions, please feel free to reach out to our Banking Specialists 24/7 at 888-751-9000.
Thanks for stopping by and have a fantastic day!
