I have a TD checking account in NY and have moved to FL. I have opened new accounts in FL w TD Bank. I left the NY account opened until I changed some auto drafts that were associated with that account. Can I just move the remaining funds form the NY checking account to the FL account on line and zero out that checking account

Great question, Michael!
We'd like to take a moment to inform you that, even though you have moved to a different state, you are still able to keep your account that was originally opened in New York if you prefer! However, if you would rather close out your previous account and use your new account, we'll be happy to help.
If you are hoping to close out your previous account without visiting a TD Store location, you may either close your account by sending a Secure Message from your Online Banking, or by calling 1-888-751-9000 to speak with a Banking Specialist, 24/7.
Please note, in order for an account to be closed using one of these methods, your balance will already need to be at zero.
In order to send a Secure Message, you'll first want to log into your Online Banking by clicking here https://go.td.com/1eaISlq. Once you have logged in, towards the left hand side of your screen, you should see the 'Message Center'. After you have clicked 'Send a Secure Message', you'll have the ability to request your account to be closed. Be sure to include the full account number you wish to have closed, as well as your request.
You can also submit this request right from the TD Bank Mobile app. From your Mobile Banking, log in and select 'Send a Secure Message' from the side Menu. We can generally respond within 24 hours or less.
If you'd wish, you may also visit your nearest TD Store location. To take a look at Store locations and their hours please visit http://go.td.com/1f9DSJR. Once there, you may speak with a Customer Service Representative during lobby hours, and they'll be happy to perform any necessary transfer of funds for you, and have the account closed on the spot!
If you have any additional questions or concerns, please don't hesitate to give us a call! One of our Banking Specialist will be more than happy to assist you.
We hope you enjoy the rest of your Saturday, Michael, and thanks for coming to TD Helps today!
