Thanks for joining us on TD Helps today William. We'll do our best to clear this up for you.
Generally, the field for your State ID number on the 1099 form that you receive will not be completed, as taxes are usually not paid at the time of withdrawal or interest accumulation on your account(s). The State ID field is a way to track payments that have already made to the State on your behalf for tax purposes.
If you did submit payment to your State for tax purposes at the time of your IRA withdrawal, then this (and all other applicable fields) should be completed on your 1099 form. If you believe there was an error on your 1099 form that you received from TD Bank, please feel free to give our IRA department a call at 800-231-8193. We are available 8am-6pm Monday-Friday and 9am-1:30pm Saturday.
Lastly, State ID does vary by State. To obtain the proper information for your 1099-R form, please feel free to contact our IRA Team at the number listed above. You may also stop by your local TD Bank Store during the lobby hours for additional assistance. To find the nearest TD Store, please visit: http://bit.ly/TDStores.
We hope this information helps William, but please reach out to us again if you have any more questions. Have a great day!
