Thanks for reaching out to us, Susanne. We're happy to help.
Typically, we are able to assist parents with checks made payable to minors; however, in the instance of insurance- or government-issued checks, these must be deposited to an account in which the Payee of the check is listed on the title of the account.
In this case, we do recommend that you deposit the check to an account your son may be listed on. If you have an account for him at TD Bank or another financial institution, it can be deposited there; or, consider establishing an account in his name. You may like to take a look at http://bit.ly/1hzzhPT, or http://bit.ly/1oXjGgF to learn more about the accounts we currently offer.
We also invite you to take a look here: http://bit.ly/1kb17UQ for more information on our Funds Availability (pages 38-41).
If you have any further questions, feel free to reach out to us 24/7, at 888-751-9000, or feel free to visit us at a TD Store. Click here: http://bit.ly/TDStores to find a Store near you. We'll be happy to review options with you.
We hope this information is helpful and enjoy the rest of your week, Susanne.
