Please instruct us how to close my father's TD Bank account. He no longer lives near a TD Bank branch.

Welcome to TD Helps, Pamela. We'd be glad to help your father closed his account.
We are able to close your father's account over the phone once his balance reflects $0.00. He is able to call us 24/7 at 888-751-9000 or send a secure message via Online Banking to have his account with a $0.00 closed.
To send a secure message he must first logon to his TD Bank online profile. He can do so by clicking here: http://go.td.com/1eaISlq. On the left hand side, he should see an option to "Send a secure message" located in the “Message Center."
If his account has a remaining balance, he is able to mail a request to have his account closed and the remaining balance mailed to him. He would need to mail a written, signed and notarized request to his home TD Store. This is the location in which he originally opened his account.
In this correspondence, be sure to have him include his account number and updated address so we may send any remaining balance and final statement to him.
To look up TD Store information, please visit here: http://go.td.com/1f9DSJR.
If he has any questions, he is able to reach out to a Banking Specialist using the contact methods mentioned above.
We hope this helps, Pamela. Have a good day.
