really difficult to transfer money to her. Since I live in the Detroit area, I usually drive accross the border to Windsor and put cash in the account. A TD representative said I can open a TD US account and transfer using cross-border banking. What's the best kind of account for me to open?

Hi there Traci!
We'd love to save you some time and a trip to Windsor – we're so glad you stopped by to ask about this!
First, to answer your question, you can choose to open any one of our account types, as any of these can be used with our Cross Border Banking services. You can learn a little bit more about these services right here: http://bit.ly/1ienPN4.
With that being said, we invite you to review our account options so that you can select one that works best for you. Our Checking options are listed here: http://bit.ly/1oXjGgF, or you can use our Checking Selector at http://bit.ly/1vW1xnU. And our Savings products are available here: http://bit.ly/1hzzhPT, or feel free to use our Savings Selector at http://bit.ly/1sxY9Rd.
We would like to explain a bit more about our Cross Border Transfer service. When using this option, transfers between your TD Bank US and TD Canada Trust accounts are free of charge when transferring between your own, personal accounts. Because you would like to transfer funds to your daughter, in order for the transfers to be free, you would need to be listed as a joint owner on her TD Canada Trust account. You can both take a look here: http://bit.ly/1w95LIc, which will link you to the TD Canada Trust TD Helps page, for information on adding a joint owner to her account at that Bank. They can also be reached using any of the methods on their Contact page here: http://bit.ly/1woOVay. Once you get this fully set up, Traci, transferring funds to your daughter should be much easier.
When you're ready to start the account, as we don't currently have any TD Stores in Michigan right now, please reach our Cross Border Banking Team 24/7 at 877-700-2913 to apply. We'll also be more than glad to discuss your personal situation with you in better detail and review the various options you might have when using these services.
We'd love to welcome you to TD, Traci and we look forward to talking with you about this soon!
Thanks again for considering us and have a wonderful night.
