My daughter is traveling to Italy and I'd like to know if she can bank there using her current TD Bank debit card. Will she be able to use her card for purchases without incurring any type of fee foreign or otherwise?

Welcome to TD Helps Robert. We're glad you dropped by.
TD Bank Visa Debit Cards may be used domestically and internationally anywhere the Visa logo is accepted. Your daughter may even make ATM withdrawals from machines that displays a VISA, MasterCard, Cirrus, or PLUS logo. You may contact Visa directly to find international locations. If no ATMs that are compatible with the TD Bank Visa Debit Card can be found, you may also use the card for a Visa Cash Advance.
While TD Bank does not assess foreign transaction fees when you use your TD Bank Visa Debit Card other fees may apply when using non-TD Bank ATMs. You can review these fees in our Personal Fee Schedule (https://go.td.com/2kFZ5mK).
You may also be interested in reviewing our products here: https://go.td.com/2eQORxu as some deposit accounts automatically waive non-TD ATM fees and/or refund ATM surcharges if certain requirements are met.
We recommend that your daughter place a travel notification on her account at least seven (7) days before her trip to avoid possible disruptions in her debit card service. Travel notifications can be placed in person by visiting a TD Bank Store (find locations here: https://go.td.com/2k77X95), calling us 24/7 at 1-888-751-9000 or by sending a secure message via online banking by logging in here: https://go.td.com/1eaISlq.
When you place travel notifications, it makes us aware of foreign transactions on your account and helps us monitor your account's security. While traveling, we also recommend carrying more than one method of payment, just in case you encounter any acceptance issues. To learn more about this and other tips we recommend you read our International Travel - Money Tips by clicking this link: https://go.td.com/2s4G3Pe and Tips for International Travel and Extended Stays here: https://go.td.com/1fO8wKy. While traveling abroad we can be reached via Secure Message (use the login link above) or by calling us by phone from outside of the United States, at (856)-751-9000, or collect, with operator assistance from a land line phone, by asking the operator to dial 1-215-569-0518.
We hope this helps, Robert and that your daughter has safe travels and a great time.
