My direct deposit payment from my employer didn't go through because I closed/reopened my account, How long does it take for my employer to receive the funds back into his/her account?

Good afternoon, Logan. Thanks for reaching out to us!
If your direct deposit was submitted to a closed account, it is generally sent back to the originator the business day following the release date. This would be the business day after your regular pay date. It may take up to 3-5 business days from the time sent to the time it is received back to your employer's account.
If a new account has been opened, we may be able to re-direct the credit and prevent it from being returned, but we must be contacted on the release date. To do this, please call us at 888-751-9000 and we'd be happy to see if we can complete this for you. While we're available 24/7 at that number, we recommend calling us between 8:00AM and 4:30PM so that we may contact our ACH Team for this.
As always, we also invite you to visit us at any of our Stores. To find one near you, please click here: https://go.td.com/1nq31dc.
We hope this information is helpful. Have a great day, Logan!
