Thank you for visiting us on TD Helps, Nancy. We're very sorry for your loss.
The answers to your question vary depending on the check you received. If this is an insurance or government check with two payees, this type of check can only be deposited into a joint account naming both parties. As you currently don't have a joint account with your deceased husband, you may wish to reach out to the check issuer directly and ask them to reissue another check with your name only.
If this is not an insurance or government check, you may be able to deposit this check into your individual TD account. We recommend reaching out to the TD Store location where you will be visiting directly to determine what kind of documents you will need to bring with you in order to deposit this check. To find out the nearest TD Store near you, please visit, http://bit.ly/TDStores.
Let us know if you have any other questions, Nancy. Take care!
