My main form of id at the time is a passport, however it recently expired two months ago. Is it still considered valid to open a checking a account?

That's a great question, Everette. We'll be sure to provide some information regarding forms of I.D.s that are eligible for opening an account. We also want to thank you for considering TD Bank for all your banking needs!
While an expired passport would unfortunately not be an acceptable for of I.D., you may use your Social Security number, your birth certificate, or a Photo I.D. Your Photo I.D would be a main form of I.D., so if you do not have one, you would need to provide two forms of your secondary I.D., which is your Social Security number, and birth certificate.
