Good evening and welcome to TD Helps, Loraine! We'll be sure to share some information regarding your account question.
In order to remove yourself from your mother's account, it would be necessary for you or your mother to visit a TD Bank during lobby hours to close the account. Please note that only one signer is needed to close the joint account. Once the account is closed, then you or your mother may open a new personal account. Click here: http://bit.ly/TDStores to find a TD Bank near you.
If you should have any additional questions, feel free to give us a call 24/7 at 888-751-9000. We hope this answers your question, Loraine and enjoy the rest of your night.
