Thank you for stopping by TD Helps, Norman! We are happy to answer your question today.
In many cases, you are able to deposit a check written to a 3rd Party to your account, with the presence of both parties at your TD Bank store. However, at this time TD Bank is not able to accept 3rd Party Checks for deposit that are Government or Insurance checks.
If your sister prefers, she can consider the option of opening an account with TD Bank to deposit the check. Please see http://bit.ly/1f9fEn9 to see more information about our checking account products and we also invite you to look at our Checking selector tool here: http://bit.ly/1vW1xnU, it will provide you with a personalized checking account recommendation. For a list of our Savings Accounts, take a look here: http://bit.ly/1l6nLQ7 and again, here: http://bit.ly/1vW1DvM for help with our customized Savings Selector tool.
If she finds an account that suits her needs, an account can be opened on these pages by clicking the "Open Account" button at the bottom of each product description. She may also visit any TD Bank store, or contact a friendly Customer Service Representative 24 hours a day, 7 days a week at 1-888-751-9000. Please find a listing of our store locations near you at http://bit.ly/TDStores.
We hope this is helpful to you, Norman and please contact us again with any other questions!
